How You Can Treat Teen Acne and Scaring

Acne is a skin condition which includes pimples, whiteheads and blackheads. Acne usually affects the face, the chest and the upper part of the back as these areas have the most number of sebaceous follicles. Typically, acne is experienced by teenagers, but it is also known to be found in people of all ages.

There are many ways with which to treat acne, but one of the most common is the use of salicylic acid. Salicylic acid can help treat acne by penetrating the follicle and encouraging the shedding of dead skin cells. This way, it helps reduce breakouts by unclogging the pores and keeping them clear. Salicylic acid can come in pad, lotion, cream, or gel form.

Another common way to treat acne is by using benzoyl peroxide. Benzoyl peroxide can kill the bacteria that aggravate acne, particularly Propionibacterium acnes. It can come in gel, cream, wash, or soap form. It can usually dry the skin and cause a bit of redness so it is typically used with a non-comodogenic or oil-free moisturizer. Just be careful, as benzoyl peroxide is known to bleach hair and fabric.

Sulfur and sodium sulfacetamide are also used to treat acne. Look for treatments that have these two as their active ingriedients as, similar to salicylic acid, they work as a keratolytic, removing dead skin cells on the surface of your skin.

Surgery to treat acne is also common, but only those with cystic acne undergo this procedure. In this procedure, the bumps under the skin that are relatively large, and sometimes painful, are surgically lanced and drained.

One thing to remember is to be patient. It takes a while to treat acne. You will probably see improvement in two to eight weeks. Aside from that, you will have to follow a routine very strictly. Also, never pop your pimples. This will only break your skin and would most likely cause an infection, and worse, a scar.

If you are open to new ideas, then there are other approaches to treat acne. Mike Walden, a certified nutrition specialist, health consultant, medical researcher and author, has come up with a way to holistically treat acne.

Walden promises that with his system to treat acne, you can actually find a cure for it, end the breakouts, regain the inner balance of your body, and finally get that lasting clear skin that you have been wanting to achieve.

You can also say goodbye to redness, blackheads, and the excessive oiliness of your face. More importantly, Walden promises to remove most types of scars and acne marks.

It is often said that acne’s main effects, aside from facial scarring are psychological.

With Mike Walden’s acne treatment system, you can look better, feel better, plus regain your self-esteem.

Acne Trigger Foods

We know fast food is bad, but it can also bring on pimples.
Fast Food: Everyone knows that fast food is just not good for you. However, not everyone is aware that it can lead to acne as well. Fast food is full of grease, oil, and fat that can inflate your figure and break your face out. Whiteheads and Blackheads pop up when pores get clogged by oil in the skin, so keeping fast food out of your diet may stop the build-up of oil in your body.

Spicy Food: Most people have been stung by a bee or bitten by a mosquito, so they know that the area sorrounding the sing or bite feels warm to the touch. Well, when someone eats spicy food, the body has a similar reaction. It causes warming and inflammation. This happens because your body lets out chemicals and antibodies to fight the spice. These things may benefit your body, but the stress it places on your system may lead to acne. Unfortunately for those who love Mexican food, spicy foods have been shown to trigger acne.

Foods that cause you to have allergic reactions: For some reason, some people’s bodies treat certain foods as if they are invaders that you need protection from. Just like spicy foods, these foods will throw your body into chaos, thus causing inflammation, stress, and acne. So, if you are one of those people that say, I have an allergy to food A, but it does not bother me that much, so I still eat it sometimes. You need to stop eating foods that you are allergic to. Eating those foods is not a good idea and not good for your body. Your body is telling you to avoid them.

Milk may do a body good, but it can also bring about acne breakouts in some people.
Dairy Products: Did you know that most animals bodies cannot tolerate milk when they grow out of infancy. And, if milk was not heavily integrated into the U.S.’s diet, human’s bodies would be the same way. Many people that live in other countries are actually considered to be lactose intolerant. In the United States, there are many people who are unaware that they have an intolerance. They just continue to drink milk, and they have no idea what it does to their body. Diary products can also cause inflammation, unfortunately resulting in an acne trigger food.

Vegetable Oil: Vegetable oil has various negative effects on our bodies. This food makes our list because the oils not only clog your pores, but they also causes inflammation. Both of these things, as you know, cause acne. So, beware. Vegetable oil is in many foods, so be careful. Virgin olive oil is a great alternative, and has actually showed some ability to fight off acne.

Vegetable oil is in a lot of our foods, and is known as an acne food trigger.
Prevention is the most favorable way to treat acne. If you do not get acne to begin with then there is no need to further control it. In some cases, acne is simply a result of your body’s negative reacting to an ingested substance. This might sound absolutely ludicrous if you already suffer from acne, but if you stay away from the foods listed above, you are one step ahead in the battle to prevent acne. It seems once we get that first breakout, more are not far behind. So we need to be aware of anything that might trigger acne breakouts.

The Acne no More system gets into more details about different foods and how they can cause your body to breakout. This system is a must for anyone wanting to get rid of your acne. If you have tried various cleansers, quick fixes, and medications – give this system a try. It has been proven to cure acne and prevent further breakouts. We highly recommend it.

Hopefully, you now have a generally idea of the modifications you need to make to your diet. We may love our acne trigger foods, but we also like having acne free skin. Good luck with your acne problem.

This Could Be The Gentlest Home Remedy For Facial Acne Scars

Which home remedies for acne scars actually work? And which acne home remedies are safe for sensitive skin? Here are some of the natural acne scar healing tips we have learned that are the gentlest and safest for sensitive skin.

Having acne is a terrible experience, and even worse are the scars that are left on your face long after the acne has healed. It can take many months for acne scars to disappear, and there are some things you can do to speed up the healing process.

Many people with sensitive skin cannot use traditional acne scar treatments such as dermabrasion or collagen injections, which are invasive and can cause irritation, rashes and other side effects.

Homemade acne treatments can be very effective, however for best results we recommend that you create a comprehensive, whole body acne treatment program which will help you clear out the root causes of your acne so that you can prevent your skin from developing more acne scars.

If you have very severe acne, you may want to consult a qualified natural health practitioner that can assist you with creating the dietary and lifestyle changes that will clear your skin and help your body heal the acne scars. They can also guide you to find acne scar treatments that are effective even for people with sensitive skin.

Tips for Using Acne Home Remedies

1. Skin test FIRST – Even the gentlest acne home remedy might not work for YOUR sensitive skin, so please be sure to do a skin test FIRST on the back of your arm or the inside of your ear, to see if these home remedies for acne scars will work for your skin.

2. Be consistent – choose a treatment, first doing a skin test as I have suggested, and if your sensitive skin does not react to the treatment, then use it faithfully for at least a week or two. See how your face looks and feels before making a final decision.

3. Find a good daily routine for your skin – Using gentle, fragrance free and hypoallergenic products will help you to cleanse, tone and moisturize your skin without triggering more acne outbreaks.

Naturally Treating and Removing Acne Using Diets

Treating acne naturally to work from the inside out is much more effective than using creams, lotions and gel products that only work on the skin.

If you’re one of the lucky ones who has gone through your whole life without being affected by acne, then thank your lucky stars. It’s a hellish condition, as most acne sufferers will tell you. A few pimples here and there is bearable, but full-blown acne lowers confidence and self esteem.

If you’ve managed to come through your teenage years acne-free, don’t go celebrating just yet, because adult acne is a common problem too.

The sheer volume of acne treatment products on the market make finding an effective treatment a very difficult, not to mention confusing, exercise.

Many of these products only treat the outward signs of acne, which are the pimples and lesions on your skin. But these are not the problem, they are the RESULT of an acne problem, which has to be treated where it all started – inside your body. And treating acne naturally is the best way.

Acne is caused by hormonal imbalance within the body, but there are many other contributing factors to acne outbreaks. These include : diet, stress, dehydration, lack of sleep, and toxins stored in the liver and colon.

Tips For Treating Acne Naturally

1) Diet. Let’s get one thing out of the way – greasy foods do not cause acne. There is no scientific proof that foods that are considered bad for our overall health have a direct link with acne. But there are foods that are considered good for helping to treat acne, and our skin in general.

2) Stress. When you’re highly stressed, you will probably find that your acne outbreaks are much worse. Stress is responsible for many problems within the body, but if you have acne, I would recommend you learn some stress management techniques to help keep your stress levels down.

3) Dehydration. Drinking plenty of water is one of the best things you can do to maintain healthy skin. Cut down on sugary sodas and caffiene when you feel the urge to drink, and replace them with a glass of water.

4) Lack of sleep. Not getting enough sleep can cause deficiencies in your overall system, which won’t help your acne. Get more sleep to help bring your body back into balance, and strengthen your immune system.

5) Detox. Toxins enter our bodies every day through pollution, and the foods we eat. Normally the liver will flush these out, but if overworked, these poisons will build up in the liver and colon. They still have to find a way out of the body – so they come out through the skin. If you’re using the wrong acne cleanser, chemicals could be forcing them BACK IN.

I accept that treating acne naturally may seem at this time, like a lot of hard work, but like everything else, it becomes habit, and it’s worth it.

Question by di551sun: What is the usual antibiotic and dosage used in treating acne?
What is the usual antibiotic and dosage used in treating acne? I have a little bit of acne on my chin (no where else) that won’t seem to clear up no matter what I do. I need to try an antibiotic and see if that takes care of an ongoing infection. What is the typical antibiotic used to treat acne? And what dosage for adults?

Benzoyl Peroxide is the most common medicine used to treat acne. It comes in cream form – usually either as 2.5% or 10%. B.P. works by killing the bacteria that forms in zits and it is VERY effective if used regularly. If you’re having problems with acne, get something at the store that has benzoyl peroxide as an active ingredient (you will find dozens of choices available at any drugstore) and use it religiously on your skin EVERY night. If you do that I guarantee you will get good results.
